ABOUT THE SERIES

The Miniakota 600cc Sprints are a group of modified midget dedicated to enhancing the skills & enjoyment in open wheel racing at an affordable entry level. We are based in the center of a 3 state region: Minnesota, Iowa & South Dakota. The Miniakota Micro’s were established in 2003 and have enjoyed 3 successful years of Growth & stability in both rules & participation. Do not be fooled by the size of this ride, as it has become one of the most sauté after tools in the open wheel racing. The newest member signed to Kasey Kahne motor sports 16-year-Old Brady Bacon spent 7 years in a 600cc micro before getting signed after 1 season in a midget. This 600cc sprint car sports 130 HP & can reach speeds well in exes of 120 mph. Intelligently we do not put ourselves on tracks that allow ourselves to push the top limits of these cars. Traditionally we record tracks ranging from 1/6-1/4mile. What makes this open wheel sport more appealing to its members is the average cost of motors $2500 & the potential to win $10,000 & start for $500 with a A main purse of $32,000.

Objection: To put into motion a local 600cc traveling program to enrich both the hobbyist and potential youngster that wishes to hone his skills. Payback better then most full size venues that are getting nothing for their troubles. It doesn’t require a huge payback when you don’t have big $ invested. A $6,000 car will let you race anyone in the nation.

Location: We have a club track located in Hospers Ia. We also travel on occasion for special events & joint sanctions with other clubs for even more intense racing. This year we plan on expanding both north & west & south for joint venues. Average car count per race is 25-30 cars depending on track and area. Some tracks hold as many as 150 cars per night.

When: We will be holding our annual club meeting to discuss number of shows, Traveling distances & special events & overall direction of the club. We also plan on running some exhibition races to gain more interest to build car counts. Our largest local event is a 10,000 to win 500 to start charity event held on Memorial Day weekend.

$$Cost$$-A wide range of Dollars can be spent to enter into this sport. Currently we have complete race ready cars ranging from new turn key $14,000 to $2,500 older used rides racing together side by side. A top of the line motor package from a salvage yard will run you $3000 ready for your race car. Hurt the motor & you can replace the long block for 1,200-1,500. Average cost per car in our club is $5,500-7,000 for good competitive cars anywhere in the nation.

2008 Season starts this Season as we crown our Next Modified Midget Champion Of the Region.

We invite you to take a ride and feel the thrill the Miniakota Microsprints have to offer.
